Carey Wasem, DVM
Dr. Wasem, a native of Aberdeen, South Dakota, is a 1990 graduate in veterinary medicine from the University of Minnesota. After four years as a practicing veterinarian in Sacramento, CA, he moved to the Zionsville area.
Dr. Wasem is currently chief veterinarian at the Zionsville Animal Hospital. His professional areas of special interest are canine and feline internal medicine, soft tissue injuries, and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Wasem has also hosted a weekly radio show, The Pet Doctor, on Indy station WIBC.
Dr. Wasem and his wife, Tracey, also a veterinarian, have two children, Rachel and Michael. They are also proud owners of Guiness, their very friendly (and rambunctious) Labrador Retriever and Niko and Lelo, their sibling Apple Head Siamese cats.
Dr. Wasem is an avid cyclist, ice hockey buff and water ski enthusiast who also enjoys trips back home to South Dakota.
Daniel Genatiempo, DVM
Dr. Genatiempo, a native of Albany, New York , grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He received his B.S. in biology from Butler University in 1997.
Doctor Dan then spent two years in graduate school at Texas A & M University before starting Veterinary School there. He earned his DVM in 2003, and then returned to Indiana where he completed a one year internship with Noah’s Animal Hospitals.
Dr. Genatiempo has been with Zionsville Animal Hospital since August of 2004. His main veterinary interest is internal medicine. He lives in Zionsville with his wife Nancy, their son, Max, their miniature schnauzers, Duncan and Doogie, and their cat Vader.
Loren Noblitt, DVM
A native of Michigan, Dr. Noblitt received his B. S. degree from the University of Michigan. He also has a Masters Degree from Purdue University in Veterinary Virology.
Dr. Noblitt spent his first years in veterinary research before returning to earn his DVM from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He joined Zionsville Animal Hospital in 2011.
An avid golfer, Dr. Noblitt also enjoys softball, making music on his guitar and spending time with his wife and 2 year old daughter. The Noblitt family also includes two Golden Retrievers, Indy and Riley.
Julie Diem DVM
Joining Zionsville Animal Hospital in 2007, Dr. Julie Diem is both a Purdue University graduate and a Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine graduate with extensive expertise in canine and feline medicine.
An Augustana College undergraduate, Dr. Diem and husband, Ryan, are Zionsville residents along with their daughter, Ashlyn, and two very friendly (but somewhat lazy) English Mastiffs, MacKenzie and Gertrude.
Julie enjoys biking, weight training and cooking when not at work or busy with her daughter and occasionally gets away for traveling to exotic lands with her husband.
Valerie Detwiler, DVM
A Vincennes native, Dr. Detwiler received her undergraduate degree in animal science from Purdue University then graduated from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She joined the Zionsville Animal Hospital in 2002.
Dr. Detwiler and husband, Lenn, are the parents of four children.
When time permits, Dr. Detwiler enjoys her hobbies of scrapbooking and cooking. Not surprisingly, she is also a big Purdue Boilermaker fan.
